Adding an idea
Select the folder you want it in, then click New idea in the left toolbar.
The dialog asks for a name and a type. The type is guessed from the folder you are in, so an idea created inside Character starts as a character.
From there you have two paths:
Turn on Quick create to skip AI entirely and save the idea with just a name and type. Fill in the rest later.
Pick a reference outline or screenplay, describe what you want, and optionally attach a file (.docx, .pdf, .txt, .md, or an image — drag or paste it in). The AI drafts the idea for you.
Whether you are creating or editing, the form has the same fields.
Write the summary as if you were briefing someone who has never seen the project. “Tall, weathered fisherman in his sixties, always in a faded blue coat” gives the model far more to work with than “the fisherman”.
Editing later
Open an idea and use Edit at the bottom of the detail view. The same form opens with the current values.
To delete, use Delete in the same place. Deletion asks for confirmation.
Duplicating
Right-click an idea in the file tree and choose Copy. The duplicate is named with a “copy” suffix and lands in the same folder.
System folders cannot be renamed, deleted, or copied — only the ideas inside them.
